Dr. Day’s approach to psychotherapy
Dr. Day will provide a non-judgemental, affirmative environment to assist you in becoming unstuck from patterns of thinking, behaving and relating to others that are not working for you anymore. He will explore with you, and help you to better recognize, ways in which your attempts to suppress, manage, and control emotional experiences and negative thoughts and beliefs have created problems for you. As you become better at recognizing and addressing your challenges in new ways, you will be able to ‘unhook’ from old patterns - freeing you to initiate actions guided by your deepest values. A central focus of psychotherapy will be to assist you to begin to live and behave in ways better exemplifying what you care about most. One mark of our success will be the development of greater psychological flexibility and ability to be more fully present in your day-to day life experience.
